Now, fellow cheeseburger lovers listen up! We have found the best cheeseburger in the area. Who ever though out putting, bacon, a hash brown and fried egg on the burger is a genius. It’s called the 2am burger however, we prefer to call it the 3am burger. Definitely go out and give it a try 🙂

Not Your Average Joe’s in Gaithersburg

AS new and exciting restaurant is at our fingertips up in the Kentlands! I know its been open for a few months now but, I was just able to make it up there this week and let me tell you I wish I went sooner! All the food is made fresh and grown local the server told us. Everything on the menu is all of America’s favorite meals and comfort foods but with a cool twist. I had the chicken with a cranberry and teriaki glaze with cannelloni with a sweet potato filling. It was amazing! Made me feel like a spin off of Thanksgiving dinner. I would highly recommend it. Then when we were leaving since we were first time customer they gave us coupons for our next 3 visits! Pretty neat huh? Then the best part. When you give them your email address they will give you a free entree anytime in the month of your birthday! Not just the day but any day that month which works out for those like me who like to have a birthday month. 🙂 Try it out and let us know what you think!

Best Dirty Martini in Montgomery County!!

dirty-martini

Now I’m not sure about you but I am very picky with my dirty martini. Everyone has their own way to make it. Some shaken, some stirred, some with Gin, some with Vodka, and then it all depends on how dirty its made! My FML counter parts and myself have recently found the best dirty martini out there. Its like a little taste of heaven. 🙂 Laura, is a bartender at Dave and Busters in Rockville, MD. Definitely go see her! How much better can a  night get games, fun and the perfect martini?

Check it out. Let us know what you think 😉

DC’s Eastern Market

pickles-in-jar

Who doesn’t love an open air market? Somewhere to go get fresh ingredients for dinner, unique gifts and the best part to people watch! Last weekend a few of us from FMT went to the Eastern Market and had a blast. With Christmas coming up and the chill in the air their were vendors with hot apple cider as well as Christmas trees and Christmas gifts to buy. All very unique things.  ( http://www.easternmarket-dc.org/)

Then to our surprise we even found a home made pickle vendor! Now if you follow us you know we all happen to love Pickle Back shots! We were like children on Christmas morning! They have amazing hot and spicy pickles as well as regular dill pickles then they even kindly enough gave us extra juice for our shots! Amazing! All we needed was the Jameson and we were good to go! ( http://gogreeneatpickles.com/ ) We would highly recommend you go and try some out!

What’s Up DC: Cliche Winter Activities

Fall is over. Thanksgiving has passed. That means that winter is about to be here with a vengeance.

What better way to celebrate the season than by doing silly, cliche things with your girlfriends! Think of it as the winter equivalent of apple picking. You can decorate cookies, go caroling, look at Christmas lights…yeah…you get the idea.

Now I may sound like a complete scrooge, but I actually happen to love these kind of things.

One of my favorite things to do in DC during the holiday season is to go to Zoo Lights. It’s totally free and kind of silly, but it’s fun…and free. Did I mention that it’s free? The concept is pretty simple, you can walk through the zoo after hours and see all the lights set up. The outdoor animals are put away, but you can still wander through the houses and see some of the indoor animals. I am lucky enough to live less than 2 blocks from the entrance to the zoo, so I love to get a mug of spiked hot chocolate and take a walk. It’s open from 5pm-9pm on select nights through January 1.

Another fun thing to do in DC in the winter is to stop by the National Gallery of Art Sculpture Garden and go ice skating. Or at the very least, stop by, get a hot chocolate and people watch. It’s not a huge rink, but it’s something different to do. It’s only $8 for a two hour session plus $3 for skate rental.

What do you like to do to get into the holiday spirit?
